The V4 startup program with Design Terminal in motion again
10 May 2019

Four software technology startups from the V4 countries gained mentoring opportunity in the second V4 Startup Force scholarship program. Main goal of the initiative taking place in May 2019 is to support cooperation of regional startups and corporates to strengthen business relations of the four countries. The program is supported by the International Visegrad Fund.

The four most promising applicants – one from each country – can participate in a more than two weeks long free-of-charge enterprise development program in May. The top mentors of the region contribute with mentoring to the development of the teams and the startups will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the leading regional corporates. The program kicks off on 6 May in Budapest, which is followed by a 10-day long round-trip to the other three Visegrad capitals, where the startups can meet the biggest names in the local markets and startup ecosystems. A special feature of this year’s scholarship program is Bratislava’s key role in organizing mentoring sessions as well as business meetings alongside Budapest.

At the opening event of the program Andor F. Dávid, executive director of the International Visegrad Fund emphasized in his speech that “the task of the Visegrad Fund is to strengthen the ties between the participating countries and exploit the synergies among others by realizing business development initiatives. The now starting program is a great example of all this, because it ensures an independent development opportunity for startups and helps to discover new ways of cooperation.”

Design Terminal’s talent promotion portfolio gained regional impact with the V4 program. Besides our Budapest-based Mentoring Program and mentoring in the Carpathian Basin, this third program builds new bridges between the startup communities of the Visegrad countries, opening up new horizons to support the cooperation of regional startups and corporates.

One startup from each V4 country will participate in the program:

  • The Czech Whalebone delivers a cybersecurity solution which protects network from harmful malware and access to infected websites.
  • The Hungarian H4 which is a member of an international group offering software tools to continuously improve quality and performance, mainly in the automotive supplier industry by optimizing the operational processes and eviting errors with audit management and quality or knowledge assurance systems.
  • Slovakian Virtual Everything creates VR/AR framework and software solutions to help companies improve and expand their sales, marketing, product development and employee training activities.
  • The Polish participant, Renderro secures a Cloud Workplace with big storage and notable performance that helps filmmakers, animators, graphic designers, engineers and architects to store their works.

The scholarship program is realized under the management of Design Terminal and its partners, the Czech UP21, Polish MIT Enterprise Forum CEE and the Slovak CAMPUS with the support of the International Visegrad Fund.
